The festival
culminates with the Ho`olaulea Celebration,
bringing together the rich cultures of
Hawaii and Tahiti. |

The festival name honors La’amaikahiki, the priest who took from
Tahiti the first temple drum to Hawaii.
Eventually that drum became the Hula Pahu used in the
ancient dances of Hawaii.
Through the connection of the pahu in both of our
cultures, we have built a foundation to share the traditions of our ancestors.
